The EAJC extends its condolences on the brutal murder of a rabbi in the UAE

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress expresses its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, who was abducted and murdered by terrorists in Abu Dhabi.

Zvi Kogan began his service in the United Arab Emirates immediately following the signing of the peace agreement with Israel, serving as an assistant rabbi, supervising kashrut, and managing a kosher supermarket in Dubai.

The leadership of the EAJC is closely monitoring the investigation of this crime and the response of the authorities. Israeli intelligence services have confirmed that the murder of Zvi Kogan was a criminal antisemitic act of terror, reportedly carried out at the behest of Iran. The Congress sincerely hopes that law enforcement agencies in Israel and the UAE will utilize all available means to bring both the perpetrators and those who commissioned the crime to justice.

Over the past four years, since the signing of the Abraham Accords between Israel and the UAE, the EAJC has maintained regular contact with representatives of the local Jewish community. The leadership of the Congress views the development and strengthening of the Abraham Accords as a primary objective across a broad spectrum of activities, including public diplomacy, interfaith dialogue, business and academic partnerships, and cultural exchange. The murder of Zvi Kogan is a barbaric act of terrorism, aimed, among other things, at undermining relations between the nations. Under no circumstances must we yield to terrorists. Strengthening interstate, business, and academic ties must be the resolute response to terror.
