The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress welcomes the decision of the President of the United States
News

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress welcomes the statement by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state and announcing the relocation of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
It is highly symbolic that the decision of the American President was announced on the eve of Hanukkah, the festival of miracles. This holiday embodies the triumph of faith and justice over forces that seek to deprive the Jewish people of their core essence—their spirituality.
For us, the Jewish people, Jerusalem is primarily the place where the kings of the Jewish nation ruled, and where King Solomon built the Temple, which was later restored by those returning from the Babylonian exile. This city is the beating heart of our people, and nothing can sever our connection to it. Even after the Jews were exiled from the Holy Land, they prayed daily for the restoration of Jerusalem and aspired to return there.
According to Donald Trump, the decision was made "in pursuit of peace between Israel and the Palestinians." We are confident that this step by the American President will bring a just resolution to the conflict closer.
We hope that following the United States, other nations will also abandon the practice of denying existing reality and officially recognize what is an established fact. Furthermore, the Jewish communities of the Euro-Asian region represented in the Congress stand ready to assist in engaging with the leaders of their respective states, encouraging them to follow the United States in making the only correct decision and recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state.
