The Director General of the EAJC Met with a Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation

The Director General of the EAJC, Haim Ben Yakov, visited the State Duma of the Russian Federation, where he held talks with Natalia Kuvshinova, a Member of Parliament and member of the Committee on Youth Affairs. The meeting was also attended by Shota Mirelli, President of the All-Russian Union of Jewish Students and Chairman of the MGIMO Jewish Club, and Maria Voropaeva, Chairwoman of the Youth Parliament under the State Duma.

The discussions focused on combating antisemitism, academic research into the history of the Holocaust during World War II, and preparations for nationwide events scheduled for January 27, the UN-designated International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Collaborative efforts in these areas are expected to incorporate educational programs from Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Israel, and the Moshe Mirilashvili Center for Research on the Holocaust in the Soviet Union (at Yad Vashem's International Institute for Holocaust Research), as well as to facilitate visits of Russian students to Israel.
