TASS reports that EAJC Vice President David Yakobashvili and his business partner Yan Yanovsky have launched an initiative to assist migrant workers in Russia who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Many have found themselves in dire circumstances, lacking family support, employment, medical insurance, and any means of subsistence. Under the auspices of the charity campaign "#ПомощьЕСТЬ!" (Help IS Here!), temporary migrant workers from CIS countries are receiving regular food supplies.
"The ancient Jewish principle of 'helping the stranger' and the universal truth that a friend in need is a friend indeed are more relevant today than ever, amidst the challenges of this pandemic," stated Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.
The EAJC leadership wishes everyone good health.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
