The leadership of the EAJC attended an extraordinary session of the Zionist Congress

Leaders of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) participated in the Extraordinary Zionist Congress, convened in observance of the 75th anniversary of Israel's independence. The event took place from April 19-21 in Jerusalem. Over 2,000 delegates, representing Zionist federations from 40 nations, attended the session.

The EAJC delegation was represented by Congress President Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, EAJC Chairman of the Board Aaron G. Frenkel, and the organization's Director General, Dr. Haim Ben Yakov.

The event was co-organized by the Jewish Agency "Sochnut," the "Keren Hayesod" Foundation, and the Jewish Federations of North America. President of Israel Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended the conference as guests of honor.

"The current situation in Israel serves as a reminder that we are one family, regardless of our geographic origin. The thousands of Jews who gathered in Israel today will return to their respective countries to continue advocating for Israel as a Jewish state, conceptually founded, as Herzl envisioned, at the very first Zionist Congress," stated Yaakov Hagoel, Chairman of the World Zionist Organization.

"As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Israel's independence this year, we reflect upon the remarkable collective history of the Jewish people. In his seminal 1902 novel, Altneuland, the founder and visionary of the World Zionist Organization, Theodor Herzl, allowed himself to dream profoundly. While it is difficult to read his work today without some amusement, one cannot deny the accuracy of his overarching vision. Ultimately, the Zionist project succeeded in establishing a modern Jewish state, and it is a distinct honor for us to partner with the organization that laid the foundations of our nation," commented EAJC President Michael Mirilashvili.
