EAJC Leaders Met with Heads of Communities and Organizations

An online meeting was held between EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili, EAJC CEO Dr. Haim Ben-Yakov, and a group of community and organizational leaders representing the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

The participants discussed the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Jewish life in the region, the challenges encountered during the state of emergency, and plans to reorganize community activities in response to the current circumstances. 

“Despite the difficult circumstances, Jewish leaders in the Euro-Asian region remain resilient. This global crisis places a profound responsibility on us, and I am confident that we will not only navigate these challenges with honor but emerge stronger than before,” stated EAJC President Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili.

During the meeting, EAJC CEO Dr. Haim Ben-Yakov outlined new online initiatives and strategic directions for the congress, alongside key principles, findings, and recommendations for enhancing the digital engagement of Jewish communities and organizations.

“In these challenging times, we maintain close contact with Jewish communities and organizations, offering our support in re-evaluating and reorganizing community operations to serve our shared mission of preserving Jewish life in the Euro-Asian region,” said EAJC CEO Dr. Haim Ben-Yakov.

The leadership of the Congress will continue meetings with regional Jewish leaders in the coming days. It is vital for us to receive direct reports on the challenges and priorities currently facing Jewish communities across the 26 member countries of the EAJC.
