Jewish Community Leaders of Central Asia Convene in Kazakhstan

Under the auspices of the EAJC and the Association of Jewish National Organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an international conference of Jewish community leaders and organizations of Central Asia took place.

The Representation of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress in Central Asia makes every effort to revive and develop Jewish culture in the region, aiming to ensure that all Jews of Central Asia have the opportunity to live with dignity and develop spiritually in accordance with Jewish tradition.

“We are grateful to you, the Jewish leaders of Central Asia, for your readiness to invest your efforts in the further development of the region’s Jewish communities and organizations,” stated Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Director General of the EAJC, in his welcoming address. “We highly value every initiative contributing to the harmonization of inter-ethnic relations in the region, as well as the support that Jewish organizations extend to Jews in need. Special appreciation is due to the direct organizers of the conference: Alexander Baron, Director of the EAJC Representation in Central Asia, and Inessa Chugaynova, Director of the Rimon Jewish Community Center.”

The international meeting featured roundtables where Central Asian Jewish leaders, together with EAJC representatives, discussed sociological trends in community development, the role of online media in community building, integration challenges of the region’s Jewish communities, and the strategic goals and objectives of the EAJC Representation in the region.
