Philanthropist Aaron Frenkel Named the New Keren Hayesod Award Recipient

At a formal ceremony held recently in Toronto, Canada, Aaron Frenkel, a prominent businessman, philanthropist, and Chairman of the Board of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, was presented with the prestigious Yakir Keren Hayesod Award.

The award is bestowed upon public figures who have made outstanding contributions to national or civic initiatives, dedicating their leadership and resources to the well-being of the Jewish people. Previous recipients of the Yakir Keren Hayesod Award include former Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and President of Israel Shimon Peres, and other distinguished political figures and benefactors.

The ceremony was attended by Keren Hayesod Honorary President Julia Koschitzky, Keren Hayesod Philanthropy Forum Chairman David Koschitzky, Director General Greg Maisel, Sheldon Adelson, and hundreds of major donors who support numerous projects in Israel.

Aaron Frenkel is an Israeli businessman and investor. Since the late 1980s, he has headed the Loyd’s Group of Companies, which invests in aviation and aerospace, real estate, energy, and high technology. Mr. Frenkel serves as President of Limmud FSU and actively supported the repatriation of Russian-speaking Jews from the former Soviet Union in the early 1990s.

For his support of socially significant global initiatives, Mr. Frenkel has been appointed a Chevalier of the French Legion of Honour, awarded Monaco's Chevalier of the Order of Grimaldi, and honored with the title "Patron of Russia."
