The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Has Opened a New Regional Office in Montenegro

On May 30, 2019, supported by the local Jewish community and the government, a new regional office of the EAJC officially opened in Montenegro.

The EAJC regional office in Montenegro is headed by Đorđe Raičević, President of the Jewish Community of Montenegro. The new office will be responsible for monitoring Jewish life in Albania, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia; engaging Jewish communities and families from Bosnia and Herzegovina with the EAJC; and organizing lectures, exhibitions, and interviews in the local press regarding Israel and the threat of modern antisemitism.

"The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress is committed to protecting the rights and interests of Jewish communities in the Euro-Asian region. The opening of the EAJC regional office in Montenegro marks another step along this noble path," stated EAJC President Mikhael Mirilashvili.

EAJC Director General Haim Ben-Yakov congratulated the newly appointed head of the EAJC regional office in Montenegro, Đorđe Raičević, expressing confidence in his dedication to fostering close relations with local Jewish communities and addressing their needs and interests.
