Emilia Larina, chairperson of the Association of Blockade Survivors, presented 30 Knesset members from various political parties with a book of memoirs about the Siege of Leningrad, published in Hebrew with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. The publication is a compilation of accounts by Israeli blockade survivors detailing their experiences in besieged Leningrad. Each narrative recounts the terror, famine, and deprivation, written more than 75 years later by those who survived that ordeal but have neither forgotten nor forgiven.

The objective of this book is to convey to future generations, particularly young Israelis who do not speak or read Russian, the historical reality of what transpired in Leningrad during the Second World War.

According to Ms. Larina, the collection compiles accounts intended to help Israeli youth comprehend and empathize with the hardships of those who endured nearly 900 days in the besieged city. The chairperson emphasized that this volume of memoirs should be integrated into the history curriculum of Israeli schools, noting that the distribution of the book at the Knesset represents a key milestone toward achieving this objective.
