The EAJC Representative Office in Central Asia continues its operations in online mode

A significant portion of the activities of the EAJC Office in Central Asia (the Mitsva Association) has transitioned to an online format, which has facilitated a substantial expansion of the program audience.

The online platform of the Rimon Jewish Community Center in Almaty offers 16 volunteer projects tailored to various age groups. For young children, the Rimon Mini-Club online development center is operational. Young community activists, young families, and members of the older generation participate in psychological training sessions, intellectual games, discussion platforms, as well as crafts and culinary masterclasses. 

Future youth leaders from the Madrichim School have commenced developing projects dedicated to Ashkenazi culture. They are tasked with designing and presenting a course to conduct classes, training sessions, and workshops for youth at the Rimon Community Center.

Participants of the Theater on Wheels online acting studio are currently preparing a mini-performance dedicated to Rosh Hashanah. The online acting studio, which expanded from the Theater on Wheels creative project, commenced operations this spring and has already produced a film performance dedicated to Shavuot. 

The Jewish Community of Kazakhstan participated in the Global Shabbat, which brought together 500 individuals from 90 cities across the CIS and the State of Israel. 

Participants of the culinary masterclass dedicated to Shavuot prepared a milk chocolate pudding, a traditional dish of Jewish communities in Western and Eastern Europe. 

The contribution of the evacuated creative intelligentsia to the development of Kazakhstan's culture will be the subject of the Tenth International Historical Scientific-Practical Conference "Evacuation to Kazakhstan," scheduled to take place in Almaty on September 23, 2020, under the auspices of the Mitsva Association, the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.
