The Prime Minister of Israel has extended his congratulations to the President of the EAJC on the occasion of his jubilee.

Today, on the 4th of Iyar according to the Jewish calendar, Dr. Mikhail Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, celebrates his jubilee. Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the EAJC President, wishing him good health and continued success in all his endeavors.

As a prominent businessman, you make a significant contribution to Israel's economic strength across various sectors. In your capacity as President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, you facilitate the preservation of national heritage, the development of Jewish communities in Eastern Europe and Asia, and the advancement of Israel's standing on the international stage. This represents a rare combination of the material and the spiritual, the practical and the sublime.

I was sincerely pleased with our meeting at the solemn ceremony in Jerusalem. The monument we unveiled to honor the defenders and residents of Leningrad during World War II perpetuates the heroism of the veterans, including numerous Jewish soldiers, who saved humanity and the Jewish people from annihilation.

I know how deeply you value your roots, which trace back to the Georgian Jewish community. This ancient community has always been distinguished by its philanthropy and commitment to Zionist ideals. Recently, we marked the anniversary of the letter sent by 18 Georgian Jewish families to the UN, petitioning for permission to make Aliyah. These courageous individuals succeeded in making the first breach in the "Iron Curtain," the fall of which eventually led to the long-awaited mass Aliyah to Israel."
