The President of the EAJC has congratulated the Speaker of the Knesset on the 60th anniversary of the parliament building.

The President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, has sent an official congratulatory letter to the Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Knesset building in Jerusalem. The official inauguration of the Israeli parliament building took place on August 30, 1966.

In his letter, the head of the EAJC emphasized the symbolic importance of the Knesset as the embodiment of restored Jewish sovereignty, noting that the parliament, representing Israeli society, should serve as a model for all citizens of the country.

Dear Mr. Speaker,

On behalf of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, I congratulate you on the 60th anniversary of the Knesset building.

Since its official inauguration, the Knesset building has stood as a critical symbol of restored Jewish sovereignty and Israeli democracy in our ancestral land. Within its walls, historic decisions have been made, intense debates have occurred, and major chapters of the history of the Jewish State have been written.

As the parliament of the Jewish people, the Knesset reflects Israeli society in all its complexity. It serves as a forum for democratic dialogue, the exchange of ideas, and the formation of decisions that shape the future of the nation. For this reason, the Knesset is called upon to be an exemplar for the entire society, demonstrating proper conduct, respectful dialogue, and unwavering commitment to democratic values.

The Jewish communities of the Euro-Asian region take great pride in seeing the Knesset as a tangible manifestation of the fulfilled Zionist dream. The grand Knesset complex, with its unique architecture and masterpieces of art, represents a harmonious integration of tradition and innovation, past and future.
