The President of the EAJC: "The fate of Diaspora Jewry has always been inextricably linked with Eretz Yisrael"

On the eve of Israel's Independence Day, a festive ceremony took place at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, marking the culmination of the "Masa 70" project. The event was held with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and with the participation of EAJC President Michael Mirilashvili.

As part of the "Masa 70" project, tens of thousands of Israelis and Jews from all over the world participated in numerous hiking routes, traversing Israel from north to south. The organizers chose the Western Wall Plaza as the final destination, where thousands of Israelis gathered that evening.

President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress Michael Mirilashvili stated: "The Masa 70 project symbolizes the challenging and highly accomplished path that the Jewish people have traversed towards the establishment of the State of Israel. Today, 70 years after the Declaration of Independence, our nation and our country continue this journey. Along this path, alongside the economic hardships of the early decades, wars, and terror attacks, we have witnessed extraordinary events and miracles—be they military victories, the rapid development of an innovation-driven economy, or the reception and absorption of numerous immigrants. I am convinced that the State of Israel has many more achievements and triumphs ahead. It is vital that, just as today, Israelis walk this path together with the Diaspora, whose destiny has always been inextricably linked with the destiny of this young country."
