The EAJC President met with the leadership of the All-Israeli Association of WWII Veterans

Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), met with the leadership of the All-Israeli Union of World War II Veterans and Fighters Against Nazism. The meeting took place at the offices of the Congress head in Herzliya.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the results of 2025, discussed future plans, and exchanged certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts as a token of mutual respect and gratitude for their long-term cooperation.

The President of the EAJC expressed deep gratitude to the veterans for their immortal feat and emphasized the profound significance of the Union's efforts to preserve the historical heritage of the Jewish people and the memory of Jewish heroism on the frontlines of World War II. He noted that this mission is of paramount relevance today, against the backdrop of an unprecedented rise in global antisemitism that has led to tragic consequences, such as the recent terrorist attack in Australia. Dr. Mirilashvili stressed the importance of partnering with the Union and its head, Donat Rappoport, personally, noting that the support provided by the Congress is the very least the EAJC can and must do in this regard.

"The heroic feat of the Second World War veterans is the moral foundation of our present and our future. Preserving the memory of this struggle and the Jewish contribution to the victory over Nazism is particularly crucial today, as antisemitism rears its head once again worldwide. Supporting the Union of Veterans is both our duty and our responsibility to history and future generations," the President of the EAJC stated.

In turn, Union leaders Donat Rappoport and Rachel Shapiro shared the outcomes of the association's activities in 2025 and outlined plans for the coming year. Among the key upcoming milestones, they highlighted the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Veterans' Union.
