Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, attended the annual conference of the Israeli publication The Jerusalem Post, held on June 3 at Gotham Hall in New York. The event gathered leading diplomats, influential politicians, opinion leaders, tech innovators, and global Jewish community leaders to discuss the repercussions of the October 7, 2023 tragedy and Israel's ongoing war against pro-Iranian forces in the region.

The EAJC President delivered a pre-recorded address, urging world leaders to define unambiguous boundaries regarding the unacceptable incitement of hatred and calls for violence against Jews and Israel. The EAJC President also emphasized the necessity for proactive measures by Jewish leaders to rectify the situation. In particular, he cited a reassessment of the funding and structuring of Middle Eastern studies in the world's leading higher education institutions as an effective measure.

Furthermore, he cautioned Jewish leaders to remain precise in the definition of antisemitism, as it risks being diluted during such a challenging period for Israel. He also called upon Israeli leaders to recognize the gravity of the current moment and to eschew political infighting when making decisions critical to the future of the entire Jewish nation.

The address of the EAJC President was also published as an op-ed in The Jerusalem Post. The Russian translation of the address is available at the link.
