With the support of the EAJC, repatriates celebrated Purim in Rehovot

The Mitzvah be-Aliyah foundation for new immigrants hosted a large-scale festival in Rehovot, Israel, to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Purim. Organized with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), the event welcomed over 1,500 guests from across the country. A dedicated team of 70 volunteers and contractors managed the execution, led by the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Moshe Asman. The event aimed to assist immigrants from the post-Soviet space in their cultural and social integration into Israeli society. As part of the festivities, dedicated areas with various activities were set up for children, including giant bubbles, character mascots, gaming tables, face painting, mimes, and more.

The celebration featured an array of traditional observances, including a masquerade, the reading of the Scroll of Esther, a concert, gift-giving, a festive meal, and a special children's show.

As the organizers noted, Purim is one of the most widely celebrated holidays in the Jewish tradition. It serves as a commemoration of the miraculous events during which the Jewish people earned salvation and triumph over the villain Haman, who had plotted their destruction.
