Commemorative events celebrating the Independence Day of Israel were held in Moscow with the support of the EAJC.

A formal reception celebrating Israel's Independence Day took place yesterday (Monday) at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow. Following the embassy's official reception, a unique event was held to commemorate the centenary of the legendary Israeli Habima Theatre. This gathering brought together leaders of Russian Jewish communities, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives of the Russian government, alongside the theatre's cast, leading directors, and actors from Moscow theatres. The Russian government was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.

The Moscow Jewish community welcomed historian and author Michael Bar-Zohar as a special guest. As the primary biographer of David Ben-Gurion and Shimon Peres, he addressed the audience regarding the preparations for the declaration of statehood, the ongoing struggle to defend the nation, and the associated political and diplomatic complexities.

The events were held with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.
