Under the auspices of the EAJC, a conference will be hosted at Bar-Ilan University

On Thursday, June 27, Bar-Ilan University will host an academic seminar titled u201cVectors and Cleavages of Post-Soviet Conflict Dynamics.u201d This event marks the official launch of the Post-Soviet Conflicts Research Program (PSCRP), established in the summer of 2023 at the universityu2019s Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies.

The program is designed as a platform for academic and professional engagement among leading experts in the politics, society, and international relations of the former Soviet Union. Its research focused on geopolitics and security in Eastern Europe and Eurasia; interstate, domestic, and social conflicts within the successor states of the USSR; the role of global and regional powers in the area; and the Middle East policies of post-Soviet states, including their relations with Israel.

Evidently, the trends and phenomena under research by PSCRP significantly impact the status and future prospects of Jewish populations and organizations in the post-Soviet space. Consequently, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), as the leading umbrella organization representing Jewish communities in the region, has provided backing to the initiators of this research program and serves as its co-founder.

The seminar schedule features an introductory lecture by Prof. Zeu2019ev Khanin, Head of the Post-Soviet Conflicts Research Program at BESA and Academic Director of the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies (an EAJC project). Dr. Chaim Ben Yakov, Director General of the EAJC, will deliver opening remarks and will also chair and moderate the panel discussion u201cEthnicity and International Politics in the Post-Soviet Space.u201d
