A special meeting was held with the President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin

On December 8, 2020, Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, EAJC Director General, and Menachem Bushuev, EAJC Treasurer, met with the President of Israel, Reuven (Ruvi) Rivlin, in Jerusalem. President Rivlin was presented with a newly republished edition of the famous collection of feuilletons by Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky. This marks the first republication of the collection since its original release in Berlin in 1922. President Rivlin, a long-time adherent of Jabotinsky's political philosophy, authored the foreword to this edition. Jabotinsky's "Feuilletons" represents a compilation of brilliant essays concerning the Jewish people, life in Russia, and various other subjects.

During the meeting, the President of the State of Israel expressed his gratitude to the EAJC leadership for the presented volumes and emphasized that the activities of the EAJC largely align with the spirit of the prominent Zionist leader's teachings.

"The collection of feuilletons, republished nearly a century after its last publication, holds particular significance. It broadens access to the ultimate journalistic works of Jabotinsky among Russian-speaking Jews. Jabotinsky's philosophy is highly consistent with the vital mission of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, which focuses on supporting Jews in the former Soviet Union and fostering Jewish identity, Zionist awareness, and repatriation to Israel," Reuven Rivlin emphasized.

The EAJC President, in turn, thanked President Rivlin for the warm reception and expressed hope that the books would engage the readers. "Despite the pandemic, the activities of the Congress continue uninterrupted. For many years, the EAJC has supported various educational and cultural initiatives, and we remain committed to doing so in the future," stated Dr. Michael Mirilashvili.

The EAJC leadership also briefed the President of the State on a comprehensive study of the Jewish population in post-Soviet countries, conducted by the EAJC.
