The Grand Opening Ceremony of the 'Heichal Israel' Synagogue Was Held

The official opening ceremony of the Heichal Israel Synagogue took place in Netanya. Located in the northern part of the city, the synagogue will henceforth be named in honor of Israel (Izi) Grinshpun, a prominent businessman and philanthropist who provided significant support to diaspora Jewry.

The event was attended by Eli Dalal, Deputy and Acting Mayor of Netanya; Rabbi Meir Kalman-Bar, Chief Rabbi of Netanya; Michael Mirilashvili, President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC); Aaron Frenkel, Chairman of the EAJC Governing Board; Haim Ben-Yakov, Acting Director-General of the EAJC; Alexander Belinkis, Vice-President of the EAJC, as well as Chabad emissaries from around the world. Distinguished guests included Moshe Reuven Asman, Chief Rabbi of Ukraine; Menachem Margolin, Head of the European Jewish Association and Chief Rabbi of Belgium; and the Chief Rabbis of Monaco, Kazakhstan, and Moldova, alongside representatives of Jewish communities, business leaders, philanthropists, and public and political figures.

The synagogue was renovated and expanded with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and EAJC Vice-President, businessman Emmanuil Grinshpun.

EAJC President Michael Mirilashvili stated: “A synagogue is more than just a building where Jews pray to the Almighty. It serves as the cornerstone of spiritual and communal life—a place where a father brings his son to become an integral part of the community. It is deeply moving and symbolic that we are privileged today to dedicate this synagogue, named by a son in honor of his father. The continuity of generations and respect for our parents constitute the very foundation of our nation.”
