A Ceremony Honoring Holocaust Survivors and World War II Veterans Was Held at the Knesset

A solemn ceremony honoring Holocaust survivors, former ghetto and Nazi concentration camp prisoners, and World War II veterans was held at the Israeli Knesset. The ceremony was attended by Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein, Minister Ze'ev Elkin, numerous members of the Israeli Parliament, a large delegation from Poland, as well as leaders of organizations representing veterans, ghetto, and concentration camp survivors.

Addressing the audience, EAJC Director General Haim Ben Yakov stated: ”The tragedy of the Holocaust and World War II as a whole marked a turning point in human history. The civilized world recognized the mortal danger of antisemitism and assumed the difficult responsibility of opposing war and genocide.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress universally promotes the preservation of Holocaust memory and the perpetuation of the memory of Jewish WWII heroes. We must do everything in our power to halt the spread of neo-Nazi doctrines, prevent Holocaust denial, and ensure that the horrific tragedy of our people is never repeated.”
