The EAJC General Assembly was convened in Israel

On Tuesday, the General Assembly of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress concluded in Herzliya, Israel. The event brought together over 70 delegates representing Jewish communities of the Euro-Asian region, including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, India, Montenegro, Albania,  Croatia, Monaco, and others. The Assembly was attended by the President of the EAJC Mikhail Mirilashvili,  Chairman of the EAJC Board Aaron Frenkel, First Vice-President of the EAJC Teimuraz Khikhinashvili (Ben-Yehuda), First Vice-President of the EAJC Rami Levi, and Vice-Presidents  Boris Lozhkin, Emmanuel Grinshpun, Alexander Levin, Viktor Naishuller, Alexander Bilinkis, Boris Spektor, Alexander Shenkman, Moshe Shvets, Aryeh Zelvinsky, Maxim Pasik, Director General of the EAJC Chaim Ben Yakov, and CEO of the World Jewish Congress Robert Singer.

During the first day of the Assembly, several EAJC initiatives were presented to the participants, including the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies headed by Dr. Ze'ev Khanin, the "JFuture" Sunday schools network, and the "Public Diplomacy" program led by attorney Ariel Bulshtein. Representatives of Congress partners—namely "Limmud," the Center for Holocaust Research in the Soviet Union at the Yad Vashem Memorial Complex, and the "Taglit" project—also addressed the delegates and guests of the Assembly.

Boaz Bismut, Editor-in-Chief of Israel's largest daily newspaper, "Israel  Hayom" (Israel Today), and former Israeli Ambassador, participated in the event.

The President of the State of Israel, Reuven Rivlin, and the President of the World Jewish Congress, Ronald Lauder, addressed the Assembly with personal messages.

EAJC President Mikhail Mirilashvili addressed the Assembly participants, stating: "I am deeply pleased that our Assembly is being held in the Jewish State, restored on the Land of Israel after 2,000 years of exile. This is highly symbolic, as one of our most crucial areas of activity is strengthening the ties between the Jewish communities of the Euro-Asian region and the State of Israel. The solidarity of world Jewry is vital for Israel, just as support from Israel is essential for the sustainable development of Jewish communities. We are communicating vessels of a single living organism—the Jewish people. I wish every success to the newly elected members of the EAJC Board, distinguished business figures, philanthropists, and leaders of  umbrella and national organizations of our region, who have committed to serving on the board, committees, and commissions. We are convinced that through our joint efforts, we can achieve more to foster Jewish education and culture, support those in need, and solidify relations between the Jewish communities of the region—which has given the world many outstanding representatives of our people—and the State of Israel. We remember the past, act in the present, and are focused on the future."

The first day of the Assembly culminated in a gala dinner attended by the Chief Rabbi of Israel Yitzhak Yosef and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Ze'ev Elkin.

The second day of the Assembly was dedicated to discussing educational, cultural, and community projects, as well as exchanging best practices among delegates and professionals of Jewish community organizations in the Euro-Asian region.

EAJC Director General Dr. Chaim Ben Yakov emphasized: "The Assembly has endorsed the chosen path of development and the Congress leadership team headed by EAJC President Mikhail Mirilashvili. We closely monitor the developments within the region's Jewish communities, support programs that have a strategic impact on their future, and cooperate with international Jewish organizations—above all, the World Jewish Congress—as well as governments and public authorities to address the pressing issues of Jewish communities, including their security. Furthermore, we actively counter manifestations of antisemitism and anti-Israel rhetoric in the media and international arenas."
