The Inaugural Eurasian Jewish Summit Concludes in Kyiv

“The establishment of the Eurasia Jewish Summit is a historic milestone that demonstrates the unity and mutual responsibility of the Jewish people. It aims to support Jewish communities across the Euro-Asian region, particularly through the development of educational and social initiatives. Today’s event was made possible thanks to the productive collaboration of international organizations, including the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and the European Jewish Parliament,” stated EAJC President Dr. Michael Mirilashvili.

During a bilateral meeting held at the inaugural Eurasia Jewish Summit, the EAJC President urged the Ukrainian leadership to relocate the nation’s embassy to Jerusalem and to formally adopt the working definition of antisemitism established by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA): “Among the co-sponsors of the draft resolution to relocate the Ukrainian Embassy to Jerusalem are 86 members of the Verkhovna Rada. Given the wide parliamentary support, I urge you to facilitate this decision, which will undoubtedly strengthen the bonds of friendship between our nations.”

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Razumkov, assured EAJC President Dr. Michael Mirilashvili that he would personally examine the matter.

Neta Briskin-Peleg, Head of the Nativ organization under the Israeli Prime Minister\'s Office, remarked: “The leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress consistently supports the State of Israel. The resolution adopted at this summit to support repatriation to Israel represents a significant step forward. The Israeli leadership highly values the Congress’s endeavors and the commitment of its leaders to the Jewish people and the State of Israel.” KKL-JNF Chairman Danny Atar announced the commencement of a strategic partnership with the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

In a declaration condemning and resolving to eradicate all forms of antisemitism, the Summit called upon state leaders across the Euro-Asian region to adopt a firm stance and implement concrete measures to prevent any further escalation of antisemitism in the region.

The Summit adopted a resolution dedicated to strengthening the role of youth in preserving Jewish heritage and fostering Jewish life within the Euro-Asian region, emphasizing the importance of modern methodologies, innovative initiatives, and creative approaches when engaging with Jewish youth, including the student community, to cultivate the next generation of Euro-Asian Jewish leaders.

The Summit featured the inaugural joint session of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) and the European Jewish Parliament, alongside the EAJC General Assembly, during which the strategic direction of the Congress’s operations in the region was discussed.

The first Eurasia Jewish Summit convened Jewish leaders from 32 countries across the Euro-Asian region. Prominent attendees included Euro-Asian Jewish Congress President Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, EAJC First Vice-President Temur Khikhinashvili, EAJC Vice-Presidents Alexander Levin, Viktor Naishuller, and Moshe Shvets, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Joel Lion, Head of Nativ Neta Briskin-Peleg, EAJC CEO Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Israel Hayom Editor-in-Chief Boaz Bismuth, representatives of the World Jewish Congress, and other distinguished guests.
