The 26th Annual International Conference on Jewish Studies has opened in Moscow, supported by the EAJC

On July 14, the twenty-sixth annual international conference on Jewish Studies, organized by the Sefer Center, an EAJC member since its inception, in cooperation with the Center for Slavic-Jewish Studies of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, opened in Moscow.

The conference schedule comprises sections representing traditional areas of Hebrew and Jewish studies (biblical and Talmudic studies, Jewish thought, Jewish history of various periods, Judeo-Christian relations, the Holocaust, Israel studies, languages and literature, art, ethnology, demography, genealogy, museums and archives, etc.).

On July 15, the second day of the conference, a special partner session, "Israel and the Diaspora," organized by the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies (IEAJS), will take place. The session is moderated by the Chairman of the Academic Council of the IEAJS, Professor Zeev Khanin.

The session will feature presentations by Dr. Chaim Ben-Yakov, Director General of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and the Institute for Euro-Asian Jewish Studies, on "'The Fifth Column' and 'Dual Loyalty': Jews and the State of Israel in the Post-World War II Period"; Zeev Khanin on "'Russian' and Other Diaspora Jews: Perspectives on Israel"; Ariel Bulshtein, Head of the EAJC Public Diplomacy Project, on "The Jewish Factor in the 'Public Diplomacy' of the State of Israel: Challenges and Prospects," among other speakers.

Dr. Chaim Ben Yakov noted: "In addition to academic panels, we are holding consultations with specialists in Jewish studies from various universities across the Euro-Asian region to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation with the EAJC, particularly within public diplomacy programs, publishing initiatives, and engagement with Jewish communities."
