Moscow to Host the Global Day of Jewish Learning

Organized by the Hillel Charitable Foundation and supported by the EAJC, the Global Day of Jewish Learning will take place in Moscow on November 17 in the "Cube" venue at the Flacon Design Factory.

On this day, Jewish communities in more than 40 countries will host diverse educational events under the unified theme "Speaking Volume." The Moscow Day of Jewish Learning will be held as a conference covering a broad spectrum of topics, from the art of public speaking and ecology to Jewish tradition and the psychological causes of the Holocaust. The event will feature international experts in start-ups, public speaking, and decision theory, who will share their expertise with the next generation of leaders.

Opening the Day of Jewish Learning 2019, Professor Fuad Aleskerov of the HSE University will deliver a lecture on migration and polarization, discussing why migration challenges are more acute in certain countries than in others, and how mathematical models can help improve the situation.

Alexander Archagov, a practicing psychologist and CEO of the "Open School of Psychology" NGO, will explain the concept of conscious disobedience and how it could have helped prevent genocides worldwide.

Yury Tabak, a scholar of religious studies, will share alternative commentaries by Jewish sages on the opening chapters of the Book of Genesis (Bereishit).

Dmitry Maryasis, an expert in Israeli studies and PhD in Economics, will lead an audience discussion on "How to Attain Wisdom in the Era of Unlimited Access to Information."

In addition to the lecture and seminar program, the Moscow Day of Jewish Learning will host a fair featuring books and educational materials from the Knizhniki Publishing House, alongside eco-friendly products from Russian designers and manufacturers.

The event will conclude with a concert by the Bril Brothers, saxophonists from one of Moscow's most renowned musical families, who will perform their original klezmer-jazz program.

The Day of Jewish Learning will take place on November 17 in Moscow at the "Flacon" Design Factory, "Cube" venue, from 12:00 to 19:00.

The event is organized by the Hillel Charitable Foundation, with the support of the Genesis Philanthropy Group and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.
