The 45th Anniversary of the Israeli Veterans Union Commemorated in Tel Aviv

A formal ceremony celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Israeli Union of World War II Veterans took place at the Beit Yad LeBanim complex in Tel Aviv. The event, organized with the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) and the Tel Aviv Municipality, was attended by high-ranking officials, politicians, and public figures. Among the attendees were EAJC Director General Dr. Haim Ben Yakov, Minister of Social Equality Meirav Cohen, Minister of Construction Ze'ev Elkin, Minister of Agriculture Oded Forer, the Director General of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, Members of the Knesset, and representatives of municipal authorities.

The commemorative event commenced with an opening address by the head of the Union of Veterans, Abram Grinzaid, following which the organization received congratulations from the EAJC. The Director General of the EAJC personally congratulated the Union on this landmark anniversary, wishing them continued longevity and-specifically to Abram Grinzaid-further success in their endeavors, and read an official address from the President of the Congress, Michael Mirilashvili.

“You represent an invaluable repository of memory and living testimony, conveying warnings and lessons that remain extraordinarily relevant today regarding the devastating global consequences of any armed conflict. Your generation was compelled to fight, yet succeeded in overcoming an absolute global threat. Your contribution to the Allied victory in World War II brought to a close one of the most tragic chapters in the history of the Jewish people, a deed for which we shall remain eternally grateful. Furthermore, your mission persisted into the post-war era as you continued to educate and caution the world against the very notion of warfare, which yields only human tragedy and chaos. In many respects, you have taught us to genuinely cherish and safeguard peace. Consequently, supporting the veterans of World War II remains of paramount importance to me personally and to the leadership of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress,” the President of the EAJC stated in his address.
