A First for Israel: An Emergency Medical Center Staffed by Expert Physicians

A new emergency medical center has opened in Jerusalem. Unlike existing centers, which typically only staff general practitioners, this new facility is unique because it is divided into three specialized departments: internal medicine, pediatrics, and gynecology. In each department, patients will be treated by specialists in their respective fields. The Frenkel Emergency Medical Center was built by philanthropist Aaron Frenkel, Chairman of the Board of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), in memory of his late parents, Rabbi Chaim and Fruma.

The new center is located at the Yad Sarah building in Jerusalem, near Shaare Zedek Medical Center, whose physicians will also practice in the center's various departments. The facility includes an imaging institute, treatment rooms, a laboratory, and other amenities.

The official opening ceremony of the Center was attended by EAJC President and Vice-President of the World Jewish Congress Michael Mirilashvili, Limmud FSU Chairman Matthew Bronfman, Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman, Acting Prime Minister Ze'ev Elkin, Yad Sarah founder Rabbi Uri Lupolianski, Shaare Zedek Medical Center Director Professor Jonathan Halevy, among others.

At the ceremony, Frenkel stated: "I am honored to participate in this event and deeply grateful for this opportunity. I have known Uri Lupolianski and the scale of his achievements for many years—everything begins and ends with dedicated individuals committed to serving the public. Our objective is for this center to serve as a benchmark, providing services of the highest standard and with genuine dedication, setting an example for all to follow."
