Statement of the EAJC regarding the US-Israeli operation against the Iranian regime

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC) is closely monitoring the situation surrounding the commencement of Operation Lion’s Roar, a joint initiative by the United States and the State of Israel targeting the military infrastructure and strategic facilities of the Ayatollah regime in Iran. This regime, as we have consistently warned over recent years, poses a comprehensive set of threats to the State of Israel, the Middle East, and the world at large.

Both before and after June 2025, when the previous joint US-Israeli operation against Tehran, Operation Lionhearted Nation, took place, we observed how Iran, despite numerous commitments, effectively and openly continued to act in defiance of warnings: advancing its nuclear program, supporting international terrorist networks, threatening to destroy the State of Israel, and destabilizing the entire Middle East region through its proxy forces. Since the beginning of 2026, the international community has witnessed widespread repression and the killings of citizens protesting against the government.

In recent years, the combination of ideological radicalism, military ambitions, and impunity has created a strategic threat not only to Israel but to international security as a whole.

In circumstances where diplomatic mechanisms are systematically ignored or exploited by the regime to stall for time, the responsibility to neutralize this strategic threat becomes a matter of security and survival.

At this historic juncture, we call upon the citizens of Israel for unity, resilience, and mutual support. The nation must make one more concerted effort to overcome the final obstacles toward eliminating the primary barrier to a new Middle East — one that is peaceful, prosperous, and united by shared values of responsibility, development, and security. We wish the brave soldiers of the IDF success in executing their missions with the courage, valor, and professionalism that the Israel Defense Forces have demonstrated time and again. It is within our power to ensure a strong and unified home front capable of overcoming any challenge.

We also place special emphasis on the immense role of our primary ally, the United States — a superpower with the most formidable military in the world — and the outstanding leadership of its President, Donald Trump. His stance, consistency, and strategic resolve have played a pivotal role in countering the Iranian threat. Donald Trump has proven to be the closest ally of the State of Israel in its history and one of the greatest friends of the Jewish people. The unprecedented level of coordination and operational cooperation between American and Israeli forces in this operation stands as a testament to a truly historic partnership built on shared strategic interests, democratic values, and an unwavering commitment to security.

On the eve of the holiday of Purim, today's events resonate with particular significance. On this day, we celebrate deliverance from Haman — a man who sought to destroy the Jewish people using power and an ideology of hatred. Today, the dictatorial regime of the Islamic Republic once again openly speaks the language of destruction and incites hatred against the Jewish state. Purim teaches us that history does not change on its own, but rather at the moment when a nation refuses to fear its Haman and resolves to take action.

May the memory of Purim strengthen Israeli society and empower our defenders. The EAJC will continue to support efforts aimed at ensuring the security of the State of Israel, protecting Jewish communities, and strengthening regional stability.
