Statement by the EAJC regarding the decision of several countries to recognize the Palestinian state

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress expresses profound concern over the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state by several nations, occurring amidst the State of Israel's ongoing military campaign against the Hamas terrorist organization, which continues to hold 48 Israeli citizens hostage.

We deeply regret this decision and maintain that unilateral actions in a conflict of such historical complexity only exacerbate the situation rather than facilitate a resolution. Furthermore, this measure sends a dangerous signal to global terrorism: that acts of murder, rape, and hostage-taking can yield political dividends at the negotiation table.

While world leaders assert that this decision supports moderate Palestinian factions and is directed against Hamas, the terrorist organization itself perceives the move solely as an interim victory and an endorsement of its criminal conduct.

It must also be recalled that the official ideology of Hamas rejects any peaceful resolution to the conflict, explicitly calling for the total destruction of the State of Israel.

We urge European and global leaders to direct their diplomatic efforts toward initiating and supporting dialogue, rather than adopting short-sighted, unilateral, and high-profile measures that offer no substantive resolution to the issue.

The President of the EAJC, Dr. Michael Mirilashvili, stated:

"This decision will neither bring relief to a single Palestinian, nor expedite the release of a single hostage, nor bring about a just and lasting settlement to the conflict. On the contrary, it will merely bolster the forces of darkness and postpone a genuine peace. Today is a somber day for all who sincerely strive for peace and security for all nations in the region."
