Matzo for the Jewish Communities of Eurasia
For fifteen years, the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress has provided matzah to needy members of Jewish communities in post-Soviet states and extended financial assistance to Jewish communities within the EAJC region of Eastern Europe.
The Torah commands: "In the evening you shall eat matzah" (Exodus 12:18). Through the efforts of the EAJC, Jews across Eurasia have been enabled to fulfill this commandment. Executing this program is a highly complex process; while production is perhaps the most straightforward aspect, addressing logistical challenges often proves far more demanding.
Each year, hundreds of kilograms of matzah are dispatched to communities in India, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
