A ceremony was held in Tel Aviv to award hundreds of academic scholarships to the siblings of those who lost their lives in the “Iron Swords” war, which began on October 7, 2023, with the terrorist organization Hamas attacking Israel. The event was organized by the nonprofit charity “Or Le-Mishpacha.” Its president, Aaron G. Frenkel, who also serves as Chairman of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), attended the ceremony and personally presented commemorative certificates to the scholarship recipients.
The activities of “Or Le-Mishpacha” are carried out with the support of the EAJC.
In total, 224 young Israeli citizens received assistance from the organization. The attendees paid tribute to the heroes of the Israel Defense Forces, security forces, and emergency services who gave their lives for the country’s safety, as well as to innocent victims of the war who perished at the hands of terrorists from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
The ceremony was attended by prominent public and government figures, including former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, singer Hanan Ben Ari, and others.
