Sponsorship of the Taglit Educational Project

The Taglit project is a ten-day tour for young Jewish adults of Jewish origin. The initiative aims to introduce participants to sites of historical significance to the Jewish people, the landmarks of Israel, and contemporary Israeli youth, including students and soldiers. Furthermore, the project strives to connect young Jews living in the diaspora with their history and heritage, fostering and strengthening their Jewish identity.

The Euro-Asian Jewish Congress announced its support for the Taglit project in 2018. Under this initiative, hundreds of young Jewish men and women from these communities will be provided the opportunity to visit Israel free of charge as part of an educational trip. For many, this will mark their first visit to the country.

In this regard, EAJC President Michael Mirilashvili stated: "As President of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, I am pleased that we are able to take part in this unique initiative, which introduces diaspora Jews to the State of Israel. Taglit participants have an exceptional opportunity to discover our shared historical homeland and its forward-looking history in a short span of time. Whether this trip remains a memorable adventure or becomes something deeper is a personal choice. Most importantly, every Jewish heart, regardless of location, should hold a place for this country and a connection to our people. Our unique history and rich tradition form the very foundation upon which we, collectively and individually, can build our future."

Since the project's inception in 2000, more than 45,000 Russian-speaking participants have visited Israel. The partnership between the EAJC and the Taglit organization is set to significantly increase the number of participants from Eastern Europe and Asia starting this year.
