On behalf of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress, we express our deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of Yasha Alfandari, as well as to the entire Jewish community of Montenegro. Mr. Alfandari devoted many years of his life to the revival of the Jewish community of his country. He became a true friend of the people of Montenegro, a man who managed to become a link between this young country and the State of Israel. This is a hard day for Jews of the entire Balkan region. We will do everything that depends on us that the vision of Mr. Alfandari – the revival of Jewish life in Montenegro – will continue.
