A renowned businessman, public figure, and philanthropist, Mark Shabad is a Vice President of the Governing Board of “Alef-Bank.”

Mr. Shabad is an activist of the Independent Jewish Movement, and up until now has been heading the Jewish Cultural Association (ECA), one of the first legal Jewish organizations in the USSR, which became the ideological and organizational foundation of VAAD and the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.

Mark Shabad is the President of the Russian Friends of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. In 2007, he was elected to the post of the EAJC Vice President at the General Assembly of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. In June 2011, Mr. Shabad was elected to the Executive Committee of the World Jewish Congress.
