The Philippines

During World War II, the Government of the Commonwealth of the Philippines established an "open door policy" for Jewish refugees, providing sanctuary for 1,200 individuals. Despite the subsequent decline in the Jewish population, the community remains active.

In 1983, the Beit Yaakov Synagogue was constructed in the center of Makati. The country publishes a monthly Jewish newsletter featuring photographic reports on community life.
